1. Before Your Photoshoot
Setting Expectations:
Our journey together starts well before you step into the studio. I encourage a phone consultation to dive into all the little details—your vision, your style, and how you want to feel when you look back on these photos. We’ll chat through your preferred looks, answer all your questions, and ensure that every part of the session is tailored to make you feel comfortable and seen. Skipping this step, which most studios overlook, wouldn’t make us the top boudoir photography team near Milwaukee now would it?
Choosing Outfits:
Picking styles that make you feel amazing is one of the most fun parts of this experience! From lingerie to cozy sweaters to your favorite oversized shirt—whatever speaks to you is perfect. Not sure where to start? I’ve got a list of local Milwaukee boutiques that specialize in pieces you’ll love, along with my favorite places to shop online. I’ll be offering up tips on how to create a style with your comfort level so you feel incredible in every look.
Preparing Mentally:
Most of all, I want you to show up open to this experience. Boudoir is empowering and freeing—so let yourself embrace every moment. It’s not about being “perfect” because let’s face it…who is?!?; it’s about celebrating the amazing women you are, right now.
2. What to Expect During Your Photo Shoot
Studio Atmosphere: My studio is designed to feel like a haven—warm, welcoming, and a little luxurious. Picture a cozy modern farmhouse nestled among the quite countryside. Windows everywhere offer flattering natural lighting, calming scents fill the rooms, and your favorite music is playing giving a vibe that feels like your personal sanctuary. My goal is to make you feel right at home.
Posing Guidance: “But what should I do with my hands?!” asked literally everyone. You won’t have to worry about poses or even when (or how) to breathe; I’ll guide you every step of the way. From the smallest tilt of your chin to the way you arch your back, every detail is carefully directed to help you feel your most confident. We’ll take it slow and ensure you’re comfortable and having fun.
Behind the Camera: My role is to cheer you on, make you laugh (seriously, we’re total dorks here), and keep the experience light-hearted. You’ll feel the energy shift as we capture each shot, and I’ll show you little sneak peeks along the way because there’s nothing like that “OMG, that’s me?!” moment from the back of my camera.
3. After Your Photoshoot
Image Reveal & Ordering Appointment:
After your session, we have one of two options. Based on a decision you’ve made prior to your photo shoot, we’ll either break for a 90 minute lunch only to return to the studio where you’ll see your images for the first time. You’ll be able to select your favorites and choose from our beautiful, timeless products to preserve your photos in a way that’s meaningful to you. I offer gorgeous albums, prints, wall art and more so that you have something special to keep forever. Alternately, we can instead schedule a Zoom reveal within 2 weeks of your photoshoot where we go through your amazing gallery together, simply on another day.
Editing and Delivery:
My editing style is all about preserving you. I keep things pretty natural, enhancing your beauty that’s already there rather than transforming you into something you’re not. I do edit out “today blemishes” like bruises and acne as well as apply a light skin smooth to give your images a magazine quality finish.
Privacy & Consent:
Every step of your experience is designed to leave you feel amazing and proud of yourself. Remember, this experience is all about you. You’ll never feel pressured to share your images with me so I’ll go over the ways I can handle your gallery so you feel great about what comes next.
